Pool building questions
What are the steps to building a pool in Tucson?
Decide on the size and features you want, set a budget, choose a licensed builder, design the pool, get permits and any HOA approval, then build: excavation, plumbing and steel, shotcrete, tile and coping, decking and the interior finish. We handle the design, permits and every build stage with our own crew.
How much does it cost to build a pool in Tucson?
Most new custom pools we build run about $40,000 to $120,000 or more. Size, yard access, finishes, spas and water or fire features make the biggest difference. We give a written, line-item quote with your 3D design.
Do I need a permit to build a pool in Tucson?
Yes. In-ground pools need a permit from the City of Tucson, Pima County or your town, such as Marana, Oro Valley or Sahuarita. We prepare the plans, pull the permit and schedule the inspections.
How tall does a pool fence need to be in Arizona?
Plan on at least 5 feet. Arizona's pool barrier law requires 5 feet and only defers to local rules that are equal or stricter, and every barrier we build is at least 5 feet tall.
What is the best time of year to start a pool in Tucson?
Fall and winter are popular because the pool is ready for summer, but a pool can be built in any season. Permits and HOA approval can add a few weeks, so it helps to start planning early.
