Our Pool Building Process, Step by Step
From the first 3D design to the day you swim, our own crew handles every stage. Here's what happens, in order.

Design it
Designing a pool takes careful planning and a clear vision. Pick a shape that fits how you live, whether for relaxing, playing or entertaining, then round it out with decking, patios and landscaping. We show you all of it in 3D and VR first.
- 02
Excavation
The first step of the build is excavation. We own our own equipment, so we control the schedule and take care of your surroundings while your pool is dug.
- 03
In-ground work
Next comes everything in the ground: plumbing and electrical first, then the steel rebar, set to the engineering plans so everything meets or exceeds requirements.
- 04
Shotcrete
Shotcrete is what makes your pool. It is pressurized concrete that forms a hard shell, and we aim for a next-day shoot so your in-ground work is never exposed for long. We add extra fibers and rebar for strength.
- 05
Tile, masonry & deck
Once the shell is set, we install your waterline tile, then your coping and decking. This is the most dramatic phase: your backyard goes from construction zone to oasis.
- 06
Plaster
The last step. We use StoneScapes Mini Pebble for its color and feel, and you choose the color and how it tints your water. Once it's installed and acid-washed, your pool is ready to fill.

Enjoy
Time to take the first dip in your new pool. We walk you through your equipment and water care so you are set up from day one.

Pool build questions
How long does it take to build a pool in Tucson?
Construction itself usually takes a few months once permits are in hand. Design, permits and any HOA approval come first. Weather, inspections, caliche and the features you choose all affect the schedule. Our build timeline guide walks through each stage.
Do you pull the permits?
Yes. We prepare the plans and pull the permit with the City of Tucson, Pima County, Pinal County or your town, and we schedule every required inspection.
Who does the work on my pool?
Our own crew handles the build, with our own excavation equipment. A member of our family manages your project from the first design meeting to the final walk-through.
Do I need to be home during construction?
No. We need access to the yard and a clear path for equipment. We keep you updated at each stage and walk you through the pool and equipment at startup.
What happens to my yard and walls during the build?
If equipment needs a wider path, we may need to open a section of wall or fence and rebuild it after. We plan access during design so there are no surprises, and we handle block walls and pool barrier walls in-house.
