How we built this Marana pool with a tanning ledge
Every photo is from this one project, in the order it was built. Tap any photo to see it full size.
- 01
Step 1 of 4
Pool excavation beside a two-story home
Our crew dug and formed the long rectangular pool along the side of the home, keeping the dig square to the house and walls.
- 02
Step 2 of 4
Shotcrete shell with tanning ledge and steps
The shotcrete shell formed the pool, the tanning ledge and the steps in one structure. A tanning ledge is a shallow shelf where kids can play and adults can lounge in a few inches of water.
- 03
Step 3 of 4
Block raised wall
Our masons built the block raised wall along the far end of the shell, which gives the pool a finished backdrop.
- 04
Step 4 of 4
Gray paver pool deck
The gray Artistic Pavers deck went in from under the covered patio out to the pool, with matching Artistic Pavers coping around the edge.
