Pool layout in a Gladden Farms backyard
We painted the pool outline on the cleared Gladden Farms yard, so the pool size and its position next to the patio were set on the ground before the dig.

Rebar cage and pool plumbing
A rebar cage was tied through the excavation and the pool plumbing was run inside wood forms. Plastic was laid along the side yard to keep the house, walls and access path clean during construction, which matters in a finished neighborhood. This pool has an in-floor cleaning system. You can see the extra pipes peeking up through the floor steel: each one becomes a pop-up cleaning head that pushes dirt toward the main drain, so the pool does most of its own cleaning in the dusty Tucson monsoon.

Shotcrete shell and stacked stone raised wall
The shotcrete shell formed the pool and steps. Our masons then built the raised wall at the far end, faced it in stacked stone and capped it with travertine, so the wall becomes the focal point you see from the patio.

Interior finish and first fill
After the interior finish, the pool began filling beside the new travertine deck and stone wall.
